What we do
We work through government systems in Enugu State, Nigeria, integrating coaching, supervision, and leadership development to improve foundational learning in primary grades.
The question we are testing with the Fund
How might we adapt government coaching, supervision and school leadership systems to ensure boys and girls learn, participate and progress equitably?
What's new in this work
We know the program improves learning, but not whether girls and boys experience and benefit from it equally. We're first mapping where gender gaps show up in Grades 4–6, then testing gender-responsive teaching built into existing coaching routines, to provide scalable evidence for institutional adoption.

Our hope at Kizazi is that we understand more deeply how girls and boys in Enugu State, Nigeria experience learning differently. Not from our assumptions, but from what the evidence tells us, and that what we learn helps teachers, school leaders, government systems to build classrooms where every child has a fair opportunity to participate, to learn and to thrive.
